In small towns like Satara, most parents want their sons to become doctors or engineers. Nobody thinks about fashion as a career.

But Rohit was different. While other boys played cricket outside, Rohit went to the saree shop with his mother. He loved helping her choose beautiful colours and designs.

He took ideas from everything around him—local temple festivals, old Bollywood movies, and stories of Indian goddesses. At the same time, his sister showed him videos of big English stars like Lady Gaga. As a young Indian fashion designer, Rohit mixed these two different worlds together: Indian tradition and Western style.

Leaving Medicine for His Dream

Rohit’s father wanted him to be a doctor. Rohit even went to another country to study medicine, but he was not happy. His heart was only in fashion.

So, he took a big risk. He came back to India and joined a fashion college in Mumbai. It was the time of Covid-19, so classes were online. It is very hard to learn stitching on a computer screen, but Rohit did not give up.

Later, he went to London to study more. Other students there knew more than him. So, Rohit worked extra hard. He wrapped cloth around his own body to practice new designs. He used old saree-folding tricks from his childhood and mixed them with wire and metal. He created something completely new.

Becoming a Designer for Global Stars

In 2023, Rohit showed his clothes at a big fashion show in London. After that, everything changed, and big Hollywood singers started loving his work.

  • SZA Grammy dress designer: The famous American singer SZA wore his beautiful pink gown at the Grammy Awards (the biggest music awards in the world).
  • Katseye dress designer: He became the official Katseye dress designer, making the beautiful pink outfits and Coachella clothes for the famous global music group Katseye.
  • He also made a beautiful butterfly top for singer Lara Raj.

What Makes Rohit Mane Designer Clothes Special?

Rohit has one main rule: Every dress he makes must have an Indian touch, even if it looks very modern.

His clothes are for everyone—boys or girls. They are stylish and make people feel confident. Also, while working, he listens to music on loop—sometimes modern English songs, and sometimes old Bollywood songs from the movie Devdas.
