Meet This Haryanvi Who Conquered Everest Base Camp Despite His Disability
Meet Pradeep Mundeja, a hearing-impaired Haryanvi bank manager from Karnal who completed the trek to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 metres after walking nearly 130 kilometres.
At 5,364 metres above sea level, after walking nearly 130 kilometres through the Himalayas, Pradeep Mundeja reached Everest Base Camp. Punjab National Bank Chief Manager from Karnal is 100 per cent hearing-impaired, but that did not stop him from taking on one of the toughest trekking routes in the world.
Mundeja completed the expedition from October 5 to 17, 2026. The journey took him through difficult mountain trails, extreme cold, low oxygen levels and steadily increasing altitude.
Working at Punjab National Bank’s Circle Office in Karnal, Mundeja planned the expedition independently from India before joining a trekking group from Pune. After reaching the base camp, he also hoisted the Punjab National Bank flag at the Himalayan destination.
The achievement adds to a long association with fitness and adventure. Pradeep Mundeja Karnal is a Super Randonneur cyclist and has participated in Procam running events.

Karnal bank manager Everest trek was completed with the support of his family, colleagues, trekking team and Punjab National Bank, whom Mundeja credited for encouraging him throughout the journey.
For Mundeja, the hearing impaired Everest Base Camp trek became another milestone in a journey built around fitness, preparation and adventure. His latest achievement has taken him from his workplace in Karnal to one of the most recognised destinations in the Himalayas.
The Everest Base Camp 2026 expedition is a reminder that difficult circumstances can make a journey harder, but they do not have to decide how far someone can go.
