The writers had a very tricky job here. They had to create a story that satisfies hardcore fans who know every single dialogue of the show, while also keeping it simple enough for someone who has never seen a single episode.

To achieve this, the script uses a clever trick. Instead of moving forward after Season 3, it goes back to Season 1. The script places itself right between episodes 6 and 7 of the very first season. While this allows the writers to bring back dead characters, it also limits the story.

Mirzapur Movie Review: Cast Performance

The performances are the absolute backbone of this film. Ali Fazal slips back into Guddu Bhaiya’s skin effortlessly. His massive physical presence, dangerous eyes, and raw attitude are tailor-made for single-screen theatres.

Every time he cocks a gun, the audience will want to cheer. Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya is the real soul of the movie. His erratic energy, dark comedy, and brilliant dialogue delivery shine even brighter on the big screen.
