Maati Season 2 Is Bringing 8 Indian Regional Languages Together, Check Out Track List. 8 languages. Eight regions. One project that’s about to make Indian folk music impossible to ignore.
Warner Music India just dropped the full lineup for Maati Season 2, and if season one was any indication, this is going to be one of the biggest folk moments of the year.
What Is Maati
Maati is Warner Music India‘s own folk label, built to give indigenous talent a real mainstream platform. The label picks up artists from every corner of the country, people who’ve been quietly carrying their region’s sound forward, and puts them front and centre instead of keeping them in the background.
The label’s managing director Jay Mehta put it simply, folk music in India comes straight from local culture and reflects how people actually live, and a lot of today’s biggest pop songs are basically built on folk melodies. But the original folk artists behind that sound rarely get the credit.
Maati exists to fix exactly that, giving Indian folk music and its artists a proper national stage to show off their raw, unfiltered talent.
Who’s Part Of Maati Season 2

This season brings together a genuinely stacked list of artists across genres and generations. You’ve got veterans like Shubha Mudgal and Kalpana Patowary sitting alongside newer names like MC Square and Ofro, plus established folk-fusion voices like Satinder Sartaaj. It’s not one big name carrying the whole thing, every track has its own pairing of artists bringing something different to the table.
Maati Season 1
Season one dropped back in 2024, backed by boAt, and set the tone for everything Maati was trying to do. It featured eight tracks across eight languages, with big contemporary names like Vishal Dadlani and Mohit Chauhan teaming up with folk artists from Rajasthan, Assam and beyond.
The opening track Bawla, featuring Sushant Divgikar and The Khan Brothers, mixed modern beats with traditional Rajasthani folk and set the bar for what this label was capable of. It worked well enough that a second season becoming reality was never really in question.
Maati Season 2 Track List

Koshur (Kashmiri) + Hindi – Ikebana, featuring Shubha Mudgal, Alif and Sudan

Telugu – Poda O Chandu, featuring Mangli, Suresh Bobbili and Kasarla Shyam
Bhojpuri – Khus Raha, featuring Kalpana Patowary, Shikriwal, Nihkil-Swapnil and Pyarelal

Maati Season 2: MC Square represent Haryanvi Music

Out of this entire lineup, MC Square‘s inclusion is getting the most buzz right now. He’s the rapper who first broke out on MTV Hustle 2.0, known for blending Haryanvi folk melodies with modern hip hop, and now he’s carrying the Haryanvi track Kundi Sotta on a platform this size.

Haryanvi music rarely gets placed next to languages like Kashmiri, Tamil or Punjabi on a national project, so having him represent the region here is a genuinely big deal for fans who’ve followed his journey since Hustle.
What This Season Could Look Like
If season one is anything to go by, expect Maati Season 2 these eight tracks to feel like its own little world, rooted in the region it comes from but shaped with a modern touch.
This time Maati Season 2 makers are also shooting on actual locations tied to each tradition instead of staying inside a studio, so the songs should feel a lot more grounded and real once they’re out.
