Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Movie Review: Story
At the center of the madness is Prajapati Pandey, a forest officer played by Ayushmann Khurrana, whose peaceful life spirals into comic disaster involving his wife Aparna, the spirited Chanchal Kumari played by Sara Ali Khan, and the stylish Nilofer Khan played by Rakul Preet Singh.
The film is a situational comedy — a domino effect of confusion and misunderstanding. A green-flag husband, star forest official Prajapati dearly loves his wife, ambitious journalist Aparna. She tries to expose a politician’s son’s love affair with Chanchal, who is a friend of Prajapati — and that is where everything starts going wrong.
One lie leads to another. And before you realise it — everyone is running into someone else’s mess.
What the Critics Are Saying
The critics are divided. And honestly — that tells you something about the film.
One reviewer gave it 4 stars out of 5 and called it “a complete family entertainer filled with laughter, emotions, confusion, romance, and superb performances.” Another review praised it as a hilarious ride from start to end, made for families — calling it a film that rebrands the franchise for good.
But not everyone agreed. Mudassar Aziz seems to have found his comfort zone and keeps returning to it. From Dulha Mil Gaya to Happy Bhag Jayegi to Pati Patni Aur Woh — his cinema largely revolves around relationships, misunderstandings and situational comedy. Even the titles feel like cousins from the same family now.

‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ Twitter review
Twitter is where the real reviews live. And on Pati Patni Aur Woh Do — the internet is split right down the middle.
One viewer wrote — “A humorous and entertaining ride. The film has all the elements this genre requires. Every actor fits their role perfectly. The film maintains its legacy and keeps the audience engaged with fun throughout.” — 4/5 stars.
Another reviewer wrote — “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a decent one time watch with an outdated concept. Some situational comedy sequences will make you giggle a little bit. Actors have done a decent job but it lacks soul.” — 2/5 stars.
One more viewer at interval said — “The movie is only sporadically funny and looks outdated. The director is recycling the same concept over and over again. Ayushmann is decent but this film won’t work.”
Honest summary — if you go in expecting a masterpiece, you will leave disappointed. If you go in wanting a laugh with family on a weekend — you will probably have a good time.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Movie Review: Cast

Ayushmann Khurrana carries the film. He charms as Prajapati Pandey but sometimes tries too hard to evoke laughter.
Wamiqa Gabbi is the quiet highlight. She is natural, does not go overboard, and looks charming on screen. Her chemistry with Ayushmann is enchanting.
Rakul Preet Singh delivers. She delivered a convincingly funny performance, commanding screen presence really well.
Sara Ali Khan is the real surprise of the film. This is easily one of Sara Ali Khan’s most enjoyable performances in recent times. She looks completely free on screen. She walks into scenes with an unpredictability that instantly lifts the energy. She never turns the character into caricature — there is personality, rhythm, and genuine screen presence. Sara doesn’t overpower the film — she quietly grows within it.
Supporting cast — Ayesha Raza as Buaji is supremely hilarious and a scene-stealer. But Durgesh Kumar — the guy who made Panchayat hilarious — has been given a bad role and looks completely wasted.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Movie Review: Haryanvi Take
Now let’s talk straight. If you have a wife at home, a mother-in-law, and a sister-in-law too — this movie will feel very familiar. One man, two problems, and no courage to tell the truth — this is like a normal Sunday story in many Indians homes.
Watch it if:
- You enjoy family comedy
- You are a fan of Ayushmann
- You want to see Sara Ali Khan’s performance
- You just want simple weekend entertainment
Skip it if:
- You are expecting a deep story
- You will compare it with the 2019 film
- You are bored of Mudassar Aziz style comedy
Final Verdict
Peddler Media Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do arrives with one clear mission — to entertain through complete confusion. And it largely succeeds by embracing chaos without ever taking itself too seriously.
The film succeeds because it never overcomplicates itself. It understands that audiences sometimes just want a film that feels fun, messy, dramatic, and entertaining all at once — and that is exactly what it delivers.
One time watch. Take the family. Do not overthink it.
