The photos show David enjoying his birthday with Salman Khan, who showed up wearing a cowboy hat, a look he has been sporting a lot lately. David’s sons, Varun Dhawan and Rohit Dhawan, were also there. In the pictures, David is seen hugging his guests and smiling for the camera with everyone around him.
Sharing the photos, Rumy Jafry wished David a happy birthday and hoped he stays healthy always. He also tagged Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, and Sajid Nadiadwala in his post.
David And Salman’s Long Friendship
David Dhawan and Salman Khan go back a long way, both as collaborators and as friends. Together they have made hit films like Judwaa, Biwi No. 1, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, and Chal Mere Bhai.

Talking about their bond in an earlier interview with Moneycontrol, David said the two have worked on 8-9 films together and have travelled the world for shoots. He called Salman a deeply emotional person and said their relationship goes beyond work, into family.
Varun’s Birthday Wish For His Father
Varun Dhawan also wished his dad on Instagram. He shared a photo with David and wrote, “Happy birthday to the chillest dad. 75 hard.”
A Look At David Dhawan’s Career
David Dhawan is one of the most successful commercial filmmakers in Hindi cinema. He built his name on comedy, giving audiences some of the most loved slapstick films of the 90s and 2000s. His long-running partnerships with Govinda and Salman Khan became a big part of his identity as a director.
Before he became a director, David started out as a film editor. His directorial debut came with Taaqatwar in 1989, and from there he went on to become one of the biggest names in mainstream Bollywood.
Some of his most popular films include Aankhen, Coolie No. 1, Judwaa, Biwi No. 1, and Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge. His most recent film as director, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, released in June 2026 and was called his last directorial project. It starred Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde.
