Karan Johar does not do small moves. And his latest one just sent a big signal to the entire Indian film industry. Dharma Productions enters Gujarati cinema.
Karan Johar’s production house is presenting Jindagi Once More — a Vaartakaar Films production, produced by Vaasu Dholakia and directed by Jaymin, starring Siddharth Randeria in the lead role. This is Dharma’s first-ever Gujarati film.
The film is set to release on June 19, 2026 — right on Father’s Day weekend. That timing is not an accident.
What Makes Jindagi Once More Different

Jindagi Once More is an emotional saga about a father and son — built around the idea that children rarely truly know who their father was before they were born. A deeply personal story. Universal feeling.
The screenplay is written by Deep Dholakia, who also makes his acting debut in the film. The supporting cast includes Aarti Patel and Jahanvi Dhakan.

Who Is Siddharth Randeria
If you do not follow Gujarati cinema — here is why this casting matters. Siddharth Randeria is a superstar of Gujarati cinema and theatre. He starred in Chaal Jeevi Laiye in 2019 — the longest-running Gujarati film of all time. He has been active in theatre since 1970 and holds the record for the most live performances by any actor — crossing 12,000 live shows. Dharma did not just enter Gujarati cinema. They entered with the biggest name in it.

Why is Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions enters Gujarati cinema?
Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Productions, said the Gujarati film industry is currently witnessing a phenomenal creative renaissance backed by a deeply passionate and loyal audience.
A trade expert noted that last year, Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate became a Rs. 100 crore grosser — putting the entire industry in the spotlight. Just before this, Sajid Nadiadwala also came on board Dhabkaaro as presenter.
Bollywood’s biggest banners are paying attention. And Dharma just made it official.

The Bigger Picture
Dharma Productions has previously presented and released Marathi and Punjabi films — and now Gujarati cinema is next on that list. This is not a one-off experiment. This is a strategy.
Regional cinema is not the future anymore. It is the present. And when Karan Johar puts his name on something — the whole industry takes note. Jindagi Once More releases June 19. Father’s Day weekend. On Dharma’s name.
